The Hudson Valley Community College softball team (6-2) lost to Potomac State (4-1), 9-1, but turned around and defeated Wells College (0-6), 13-4, on Wednesday afternoon.
Natalie Triano (Colonie/Albany) drove in the only run for the Vikings in the first inning against Potomac State. The team struggled offensively and couldn’t produce any runs after that. The Vikings came alive in the second game against Wells College putting up 13 runs. Triano went 2-4 with a double, homerun and three RBIs. Molly McDonough (Lansingburgh/Lansingburgh) also went 2-4 from the plate with a two-run single. Cherish Kilventon (Cohoes/Cohoes) recorded her third win of the season.
The Vikings wrapped up its spring trip in Myrtle Beach, SC finishing 6-2. The team hosts its first home game of the season against the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m.
