Softball wins two over Clinton

 

The softball team (5-7) defeated Clinton Community College (0-12), 7-6 and 9-1, on Tuesday afternoon.

Maggie Miller (Maple Hill/Schodack) pitched a complete game, striking out seven to earn the win in game one. Alyssa Hand (Columbia/East Greenbush) went 3-3 with two doubles, and Sierra Bailey (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) added two hits in the win.

The Vikings jumped out to a big lead in game two and never looked back. Meghan Roullier (Columbia/Wynantskill) led the team going 3-3 with two runs scored. Emily Johnson (Tamarac/Wynantskill) went 2-2 with three RBIs, and Miller and Hand each had a homerun, combining for five RBIs.

The softball team travels to Fulton-Montgomery on Thursday for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
