Students, faculty and alumni from the Dental Hygiene Department volunteered on Friday October 18th at the Special Olympics Fall Games in Glens Falls New York. The Special Smiles program provides dental screenings for all athletes in attendance, helps them to find a “dental home” and also provides custom fit athletic mouthguards for those athletes participating in contact sports. Other health disciplines are available for screening athletes as well, including Fit Feet and Healthy Minds.
