The following statement was released by the President’s Office following Governor Cuomo’s State of the State address on Wednesday.
“We at Hudson Valley Community College are encouraged that Governor Cuomo continues to put the State University system in its rightful place – at the forefront of workforce development and economic growth for New York State.
“Expanding the competitive NYSUNY2020 challenge grants to all SUNY campuses allows for our public colleges to expand upon their economic importance to the state. Community colleges in particular are the ‘front line’ for on-demand career training and affordable higher education, and we at Hudson Valley look forward to working with state leaders, higher education partners, and businesses and industries here in the Capital Region to drive new jobs and new industry growth.”
