Step Afrika! returns to campus Friday, Sept. 29

Don’t miss STEP AFRIKA! at noon on Friday, Sept. 29 in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre. Free and open to all!

STEP AFRIKA! combines African and modern dance to create a style known as stepping. Stepping is a high-energy art form, punctuated with claps, kicks, stomps and chants, that quickly has audience members on their feet.

Based in Washington D.C., STEP AFRIKA! tours extensively with its vast repertoire and arts-in-education programs that use stepping to emphasize teamwork, discipline and commitment, engaging young people and inspiring them to make positive choices. The company first performed at Hudson Valley in 2013.

Presented by the Cultural Affairs Program.
