This is an extended, for-credit, version of the session that was offered at this year’s Faculty Workshop Day.
The Center for Academic Engagement (CAE) was created last summer, designed to use the faculty recommendations from the Early Warning System (EWS) to connect with students and facilitate active engagement in their learning. Through academic coaching and referrals to support services across campus the CAE strives to foster confidence, independence, and success in students. The EWS was updated for the fall semester to better assist faculty in identifying students for intervention. Early intervention is essential, particularly for new students transitioning to college. Attend this informative session to find out how the Learning Centers and the CAE have developed a collaborative effort to retain students, and discover how the EWS and the CAE support faculty members in their commitment to student success and retention.
