Student has photograph chosen to hang in Governor Cuomo’s Washington office

A photograph by Fine Arts student Kyle Birnbach was chosen to hang in the Washington, D.C. office of Governor Andrew Cuomo. Birnbach, who is changing his major to Individual Studies for the Spring 2015 semester, was encouraged to submit the photo by Assistant Professor Jean O’Malley, his Photography I instructor. The photo, shown below, is titled “Under Destruction.”

Fine Arts departments across the State University of New York system were asked to submit student work for the office exhibit, and Birnbach’s was one of 20 chosen, according to SUNY’s Carol Donato.

The selections were made by staff in the Governor’s D.C. office. The work will hang in the office through December 2015.
