SUNY Open Access Week will be highlighted Oct. 24-28 with five consecutive brown bag webinars. The webinars will focus on open access publishing and scholarly communications, peer review, adoption of free Open SUNY textbooks authored by SUNY faculty, and author rights in the new open access environment.
The webinars will be shown in MRV143 at Noon. Participants are welcome to bring lunch. Pre-registration is not required; the Dwight Marvin Library has registered for campus viewing.
Faculty are encouraged to access the subject guide, Open Education Resources (OER): A Guide for HVCC Faculty, for more information about adopting OER and reducing the cost of attendance for students using alternatives to high-priced traditional textbooks.
Contact Library Director Brenda Hazard with questions about the webinars or with interest in exploring OER adoption.
