I am very pleased to announce the Supervisor Kick Start 10-week Training Program, offered now to all employees by the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The free, webinar-based training is offered Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 4 and ending Dec. 13 (see dates below).
This training is designed to address fundamental supervisory and leadership skills that are necessary for effective individual and team management. Designed for first-time supervisors or those who have never had formal supervisory training, the sessions cover a broad range of important topics from leadership concepts to detailed tools for important skills like time management, tracking performance, and documenting discipline.
Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Supervisor Kick Start.
Below are the topics that will be discussed. Handouts will be available the day of each session. Each session is 40-45 minutes long with 15-20 minutes available for a question and answer period.
Session 1 – The Supervisor as Leader
Session 2 – Common Supervisory Pitfalls and Solutions (ethics, supervising your former peers and managing stress)
Session 3 – Establishing a Positive Work Environment (motivating, engaging and retaining staff, praise and reward)
Session 4 – Effective Communication (basic personality types, effective listening, managing teams, and effective meetings)
Session 5 – Managing Conflict (managing challenging people and role of facilitator)
Session 6 – Decision Making and Delegating (time management)
Session 7 – Managing Multiple Priorities (tracking and accountability)
Session 8 – Guiding Employees through Change (training, coaching and mentoring, employee evaluations)
Session 9 – Documenting Discipline
Session 10 – Self-care

Eric Eisenstein
Eric is a recipient of the NYS Training Council’s Maurice Schwadron Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in the human resources development profession, and is the former Training Director of the Office of Quality Development for NYS.
Jami Ehring
Jami has been a corporate trainer for over 27 years with experience in employee development, growth producing coaching, design and implementation of marketing programs and corporate communications.
