Mark your calendars! In conjunction with Spring Fest and Take Your Children to Work Day, Hudson Valley Community College Sustainability Day is being held on Thursday, April 27.
The Sustainability Committee will sponsor a craft project,* scavenger hunt, Cogeneration Plant tour (9 a.m.) and nature trail walk (10 a.m.) as part of Take Your Children to Work Day. The committee also will host displays and exhibits in the Campus Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., including native shrub and houseplant giveaways, cellphone recycling, worm composting and rescued wild animals.
Voices: A Library Lecture Series will present “Water Quality Down the Drain” by Elizabeth Moran, of Environmental Advocates of New York, at noon in the BTC Auditorium, and a campus clean-up will be held at 2 p.m. (rain date April28).
Please come out and participate in any and all of these activities and meet members of your Campus Sustainability Committee.
*The committee is seeking donations of teacups or colorful mugs to “upcycle” into planters.
