Sustainability Tip of the Week

Sustainability Tip of the Week
A Simple Wish for a Better Tomorrow

Clean Heating & Cooling
Burning gas and oil adds CO₂ and methane to our atmosphere which contributes to global warming. Gas adds more methane which actually adds more heat to the atmosphere than CO₂. If you need to change out your heating and cooling system or hot water tank, consider a heat pump. Power it with solar energy either on your home or with community solar and it is a win, win!

The Capital Region is running a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority program called Heat Smart Capital Region to help you change to a fossil-free fuel alternative. For more information, visit NYSERDA Clean Heating & Cooling Communities.

If you are interested in free training in ground source or heat pump technology or would like a presentation about the profession, visit the college’s Workforce Development training webpage.
