The Hudson Valley Community College Sustainability Committee seeks submissions for its new Sustainability Tip of the Week. Faculty, staff and students, please send your sustainable ideas to share for our weekly tip to j.coons@hvcc.edu and when used, receive a token of our appreciation.
Plan on celebrating Earth Day on Thursday, April 25 in the Siek Campus Center during Spring Fest for a tree and plant give-away. The campus clean-up will be held on Monday, April 22 at 2 p.m. (rain date; Friday, April 26). Contact Susan Steiner to sign up, s.steiner@hvcc.edu. The next Sustainability Committee meeting will be held Monday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in BTC Meeting Room #1. All are invited to attend.
Sustainability Tip of the Week
A Simple Wish for a Better Tomorrow
Celebrate and learn about sustainability at the Saratoga Sustainability Fair on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.
Keynote Speaker Aaron Mair, environmentalist, scientist, and 57th National President of the Sierra Club, is at 11 a.m. in the Gannett Auditorium in Palamountain Hall. Mair will discuss “Democracy, Intersectionality and Building a Strong Climate Movement.”
The event will include more than 30 exhibitors, workshops, an on-campus sustainability tour, electric vehicle display.
