On January 12, 2010 Haiti suffered a terrible earthquake killing 300,000 people leaving 1.5 million homeless. Since then Haiti continues to suffer from unbelievable tropical storms and flooding. It is a land of mud and disease in which thousands of children die each year.
Please join the Teacher Preparation Departemnt in the challenge of saving the children of Haiti by filling a shoebox for a child. The shoebox may include toys made in the USA, school supplies, hard candies, non-perishable foods and other items of interest to children. Rice and beans may be placed in the shoe box only if they are placed in strong clean containers.
A $5 donation for each box is asked for shipping costs to Haiti. Place this donation in a separate envelope* marked shipping please do not place it in the box. The box should be wrapped in holiday paper with a label on it that indicates the gender and age of the child that the box is intended for.
Please drop your box off in Higbee Hall room 109 no later than Thursday October 13th.
* Make any checks payable to the Croatian Relief Services
