Masley’s drawings and installations manipulate, recombine and then layer urban topographies and built structures beyond recognizability. They become unpredictable; seeped in an emotional and political urban texture of changing landscape and borders. Masley’s base images of radical buildings give way to a surface that is reminiscent of withering impractical facades and give us the illusion of structure, animated texture and misshapen order that we need to comprehend the visual situation that surrounds our modern life today.
