Work by students enrolled in the college’s Digital Media Program will be showcased in “pulse 8” on view in the Teaching Gallery, located on the ground floor of the Administration Building, Thursday, April 20 through Saturday, April 29.
The opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21, and is open to the public free of charge. Gallery hours, also free, are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“pulse 8,” one of three year-end exhibitions in the Teaching Gallery, includes photography, drawing, graphic design, animation, two-dimensional design, digital imaging, video, web art and interactive media. “The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul,” the Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting Exhibit, and the Juried Fine Arts Student Exhibit were on view March 23 through April 1.

The Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media offers an Associate in Science degree in Fine Arts, and an Associate of Science degree or certificate in Digital Media. Most graduates plan to continue their education at a four-year college. About 150 Fine Arts and Digital Media students are currently enrolled at the college.
The year-end exhibits are planned and installed by students enrolled in Gallery Management courses. Full-time Fine Arts and Digital Media faculty members are Justin Baker, Tara Fracalossi, also Teaching Gallery director, Kyra Garrigue, Thomas Lail, Jean O’Malley and Jason Van Staveren. Scott Hathaway chairs the Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media Department.
