Thanksgiving Comes Early This Year

When the calendar turns from October to November, most people begin making plans for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie are only a few of the special foods that people enjoy on this special day. Yet, Thanksgiving arrives two weeks early this year at Hudson Valley Community College because “Write All Night” will occur on Thursday November 14 from 10:00 p.m. to midnight.

The main offering that evening will be a collection of writing specialists who can read your first drafts and offer constructive criticism. The side dishes will be help with all your writing questions. And the dessert will be instruction on how to document your sources, whether you are using MLA, APA, Chicago, or some other style.

“Write All Night” is a special program sponsored by The Learning Centers once per semester to give you an extra opportunity to get help on your research papers or other writing assignments. In the past, for instance, some students have used this special session to work on their in-text citations and end-of-paper documentation while others have used the opportunity to fine tune their introduction, their conclusion, their transitions, and their overall organizational pattern. Generally, those students who take advantage of “Write All Night” are extremely thankful for the assistance

“Write All Night” will be held on the lower level of the Marvin Library in The Writing and Research Center.
