The college’s Theatre Club and Theatre Arts Program present “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot,” written by Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Thomas Brennan in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.
Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1. Admission is $10 general public, $5 students and free for Hudson Valley Community College students with ID.
Theatre Arts Assistant Professor Rosanne Raneri describes “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” as “a provocative play — a comedy as well as a drama. Stephen Adly Guirgis’s take on a trial for Judas Iscariot, who is in Purgatory for his betrayal of Jesus, will crack you up, move you deeply, and surprise you.”
Due to strong language and mature subject matter, it is recommended only for those 14 and older.
“We’ve brought in special guest director Tom Brennan, a member of the Actor’s Equity Association, to lead the project with Bailey Medici, a student, serving as assistant director. They’ve shaped a beautiful show, with a fairly large cast and crew,” Raneri said.
