Hudson Valley Community College’s Theatre Arts Program and Theatre Club will present RUMORS by Neil Simon on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 17, 18, and 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre, located in the Siek Campus Center.
In this popular and wild comedy, four couples arrive at the home of Charlie and Myra Brock to celebrate the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary. But the party never begins because the host has shot himself in the head (it’s only a flesh wound) and his wife is missing. Charlie’s lawyer, one of the guests at the party, tries to cover up the situation, but the cover up gets increasingly difficult to maintain as the other guests arrive and nobody can remember who has been told what about whom. Schemes take shape and hilarity abounds as the couples get more and more crazed. The evening wraps up with an outrageous explanation of events given to the police, who are in the neighborhood investigating another incident.
Admission is free for all students with a valid school or college I.D., and $5 for all others.
