Men’s Basketball (3-3) split games last week, defeating Adirondack, 94-65, at home on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Mitchell Dame led all scorers with 26 points and added nine rebounds. On Sunday, Nov. 19, the Vikings were on the wrong side of a buzzer beater as they lost in overtime at Schenectady, 70-69. Dame and Sean Webb each scored 13 points.
Men’s basketball is on the road Tuesday, Nov. 21 when they travel to play Ulster at 7 p.m.
Women’s Basketball (5-1) has now won four straight games and surpassed last season’s win total (4-20 in 2016-17) with Sunday’s 55-50 win at Schenectady. Late in the fourth quarter, Schenectady pulled within a possession of the Vikings and Hudson Valley’s Melpomeni Doutsis responded by hitting a clutch 3-pointer to put the game out of reach of the Royals and secured the Vikings fifth win of the year and remain undefeated in the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference (3-0).
The Women’s team also defeated Adirondack, 76-70, on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and Kingsborough, 98-62, on Saturday, Nov. 18. The team’s 98 points are the most points scored by the Vikings since Feb. 6, 2007 when they defeated Adirondack 102-62.
