The spring season was in full swing last week, with all seven programs in action.
Baseball: The baseball team closed out the regular season winning three of their final four games, including a 3-1 win over No. 9 Herkimer. Baseball will now wait until the region announces the sub-regional playoff seeds, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 11.
Softball: The nationally-ranked softball team (#10) is rolling with 13 straight wins after sweeping Mohawk Valley last week. They are expected to be a No. 3 seed in this weekend’s playoff series on Saturday, May 11 at HVCC. Their opponent will be announced by the Region 3 softball committee on Wednesday, May 8.
Track & Field: The track and field team hosted the NJCAA Region 3 Championships and both programs placed second in their respective standings. For more details on the the Region 3 Championship, visit www.hvccathletics.com.
Women’s Tennis: The women’s tennis program made history on Sunday afternoon as they claimed the program’s first NJCAA Region 3 championship since 1998 after winning five of the nine matches at Mohawk Valley, the host of the Region 3 championships.
Men’s Golf: The men’s golf team closed out the regular season with three straight road matches at Jefferson (third), Herkimer (second) and Onondaga (second). At the Herkimer match, the golf program earned its second consecutive conference championship and Owen Hampson was named the conference player of the year after he shot a 77.
