This week in Athletics:
Football: The #4 ranked football team played its best game of the season as it dominated the #5 ranked Nassau Lions 28-7 on homecoming weekend. Cameron Harbaugh set the program record with 53 pass attempts in a single game and 36 pass completions in a single game. His 407 passing yards and his 4 TDs in a game are both second-best on the HVCC’s all-time single game list. Receivers Micah Gates and Damien Santiago were outstanding on the day as well. They combined for 251 receiving yards with Santiago producing three touchdowns. The win over Nassau snapped an eight-game losing streak for the football program. Recap | Season Stats
Men’s Soccer: The men’s soccer team finished the week with a 2-1 record as they claimed wins over Clinton and Niagara. They dropped a tough match Sept. 22 to FMCC. They are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 25, traveling to play SUNY Broome at 3 p.m. Recaps | Season Stats
Women’s Soccer: The women’s soccer tean finished with a 1-1 week with a win over Niagara and a tough road loss at Holyoke. The team has the opportunity to get back in the win column on Wednesday, Sept. 25, as players travel to meet SUNY Broome at 1 p.m. Recaps | Season Stats
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country: The men’s and women’s cross country programs did not compete last week. However, they took time out of their day to volunteer for HVCC’s annual Race Away Stigma 5K race during Homecoming on Sept. 21. Recaps
Women’s Volleyball: The volleyball team has gone up against some of the best teams in the Region and finished last week with an 0-3 record. They faced nationally-ranked Fulton-Montgomery twice and played Jefferson, one of the top Region 3 programs, in Watertown on Sept. 21. Volleyball will get back on track on Tuesday, Sept. 24, hosting Mohawk Valley at 6 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex. Recaps | Season Stats
