This week in Athletics
Football: The football program closed out the 2024 season with a 44-26 road win over Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. The team finished with an 8-2 record, the best record in 10 years.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country: The cross country programs competed at the NJCAA National Championships in Richmond, VA. The men placed 14th overall and the women’s team did not record a team score. Individually, the men were led by Drew Schroeder, who finished the 8K race with a time of 27:54 and placed 18th overall. For the women, Athena Seebald led the way with a 5K time of 22:52 and placed 41st overall.
Men’s Basketball: The men’s basketball team dropped its first game of the season against a competitive SUNY Orange program, 89-79. Up next is a match up with rival, Herkimer, on Wednesday, Nov. 13th at 7 pm in Herkimer, NY.
Women’s Basketball: The women’s basketball team is off to a 2-1 start following a road win at SUNY Orange and a 1-1 record at the Northeast Cup Tournament, hosted by Massasoit. The women defeated Monroe-Bronx on Sunday (81-48) and were defeated 100-94 by Kingsborough. The women are set to play in a consolation game vs. Maine-Augusta today at Massasoit at 4 p.m.
