NJCAA Day 2018: For the second consecutive year, the NJCAA will celebrate NJCAA Day to showcase the association. Thursday, Oct. 18 is designated as the second annual celebration of the NJCAA. The slogan for the 2018 campaign is “Creating Opportunities.” The NJCAA encourages student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, and fans to express the opportunities that have been created for them and how they plan to create opportunities for their future and the future of the NJCAA.

Cross Country: The Hudson Valley Community College men’s and women’s cross-country teams won the 2018 Mountain Valley Conference Championships over the weekend. Jared Craw and Mercedes Planavsky won the individual championships in their respective races.

Football: The Hudson Valley Community College football (2-6) won on the road as they defeated Stevens Tech, 38-9. The Vikings outscored Stevens Tech 17-6 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Men’s Soccer: Hudson Valley Community College men’s soccer (8-5) finished the weekend 1-1 and has earned the No. 9 seed in the NJCAA Region 3 Tournament. The Vikings will travel to play No. 8 Mohawk Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.

Women’s Soccer: Hudson Valley Community College women’s soccer (11-2-1) completed the weekend sweep with 12-0 and 6-0 wins over Cayuga and Jefferson, respectively. The women’s team has earned the No. 5 seed in the NJCAA Region 3 Tournament and will play at No. 4 Herkimer on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Volleyball: The Hudson Valley Community College women’s volleyball team closed out the 2018 regular season as the team honored their second-year players and held its annual Dig Pink fundraiser to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
