Women’s Soccer
Hudson Valley Community College women’s soccer student-athlete Sydnee Metzold has been named to the NJCAA All-American First-Team as announced today by the NJCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Committee.
Men’s Basketball
Following the program’s best start since 2008-09, the Hudson Valley’s men’s basketball team (9-1) jumped into the first NJCAA national poll of the season as the fifth ranked team in the country, as announced by the governing office on Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings men’s basketball team finished the week with a 1-1 record with a tough 68-67 loss at home to Onondaga on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The Vikings recovered to defeat Tompkins Cortland on Saturday, Dec. 8, 92-78. Caleb Cantyled the Vikings with 30 points in their win over the TC3 Panthers on Saturday.
Women’s Basketball
Hudson Valley’s women’s basketball team finished the week with a 2-1 record. Following a 79-66 loss to No. 5 Onondaga on Wednesday, Dec. 5, the Vikings finished the weekend 2-0 with wins over Tompkins Cortland (86-71) and Schenectady (100-62).
In the two wins, Hannah Kreiger averaged 26 points per game and hit 12 three-point field goals from behind the arc.
