NJCAA Region 3 Honors
Hudson Valley’s men’s basketball student-athlete O’nandi Brooks has been named the NJCAA Region 3 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced by Region 3.

Brooks posted two straight double-doubles, including a monster 20-20 performance in the Vikings win over Tompkins Cortland. Brooks finished with 21 points and 21 rebounds and added five blocks to help the Vikings pull away from the TC3 Panthers. O’nandi also posted 15 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks in the Vikings one-point loss to Onondaga. Brooks orchestrated an 8-0 run against Onondaga to push the Vikings back on top late in the game.

NJCAA National Rankings
Following a 1-1 week, the Hudson Valley’s men’s basketball team fell three spots in the latest NJCAA national poll of the season as announced by the governing office on Dec. 11. The No. 8 Vikings have continued to play well together last week despite a one-point loss, 68-67, to a tough Onondaga program last Wednesday. Hudson Valley recovered with a 92-78 win against Tompkins Cortland on Saturday.

Caleb Canty led the Viking offense with a team-high 23 points and O’nandi Brooks added 14 points, including 10 points in the first half. Josiah McCall (Beacon/Beacon) finished with 15 points, which included four, 3-point field goals made in the first half.

Women’s Basketball
The women’s team enters the holiday break on a four-game win streak, including a 2-0 record last week with wins over Kingsborough and Springfield Tech.

The Vikings high-scoring offense reached new heights in their home win against Springfield Tech as they scored a program-best 114 points for their third straight game hitting the century mark. Madison GraberHannah Kreiger and Lyndsay Miller combined to score 65 points in the Vikings record scoring performance.

Men’s and Women’s Bowling
The bowling teams are getting ready to head out to the Roto Grip Keystone Classic and the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic on Dec. 26 through Dec. 30.
