Women’s Basketball
The Vikings season came to the end last week as they were defeated 75-67 by No. 4 Jefferson. The NJCAA Region 3 All-Region teams were released last week with three Vikings listed.

All-Region First Team: Taylor Engster
All-Region Second Team: Caitlin Estes, Hannah Kreiger

Men’s Basketball
The men’s program also concluded its season last week as the team was defeated 67-61 by No. 2 Mohawk Valley. The NJCAA Region 3 also released the men’s All-Region teams.

All-Region Second Team: Caleb Canty

Bowling
The Hudson Valley bowling team finished eighth at the NJCAA National Tournament this weekend in Buffalo. As a team, the Vikings accumulated a final score of 11,771, which placed them eighth out of 17 NJCAA programs. Hudson Valley finished with a Singles & Doubles score of 5,227 and added 5,008 in the 5-man portion of the tournament. The Vikings ended the tournament with a Baker score of 1,536.

Men’s Lacrosse
The Hudson Valley Community College men’s lacrosse (1-0) team gave the home crowd an offensive clinic in their 19-7 season opening win over Union County on Saturday, March 2 at the Vikings Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Nicholas Malatesta (North Greenbush/Averill Park) and Darren Nagy (Saugerties/Saugerties) had a hand in six of the Vikings seven first-half goals. Malatesta tallied two goals and two assists, while Nagy scored two of his four goals in the opening half.

Malatesta added two assists and one goal in the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high seven points.

Austin Hinderliter (Ephratah/Johnstown) exploded for all six of his goals, including three straight goals over a span of five minutes in the fourth quarter to blow the game open in favor of Hudson Valley.
