Homecoming Banner Contest
Be sure to visit Student Activities to pick up your banner supplies and submit your department or team banner for the Homecoming Banner Contest! The winning team will receive a $100 prize toward Mazzone Hospitality and the second-place team will receive a $50 prize toward Mazzone Hospitality.
Homecoming Athletic Schedule on Saturday, Sept. 21
- Women’s Tennis vs Mohawk Valley – 1 p.m.

Cross Country
The Hudson Valley cross country program was off this weekend. They return to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 when the team’s travels to compete at the Bard College Invitational.
Football
The Hudson Valley football program earned a huge win over NJCAA Region 3 rival Erie, 20-14, on Saturday, Sept. 14. The victory is the program’s first home win since 2016 when they defeated Nassau, 28-24, in the final game of the 2016 season. It also marks the first Vikings football win over rival Erie since 2015.
Football will now hit the road for its next five games, beginning Saturday, Sept. 21 when they travel to take on Nassau at 1 p.m.
Volleyball
The Hudson Valley women’s volleyball program finished the week 1-4. The team earned a 3-0 match win over Mohawk Valley on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at home. The team competed very hard at the annual HVCC pod tournament on Sunday, but dropped all three matches against Finger Lakes (3-1), Genesee (3-2) and Monroe (3-0).
Volleyball will travel to play North Country on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. and will return to North Country on Saturday, Sept. 21 for its pod tournament against Jamestown, Niagara and Erie.
Men’s Soccer
The men’s soccer program has been playing very well and finished the week 2-0-1 with road wins at Adirondack (3-1) and Corning (4-3). The Vikings’ tie came on Sunday as they earned the rare scoreless tie against Jamestown.
The men’s program travels Wednesday, Sept. 18 to take on Mohawk Valley at 2 p.m. before heading home on Saturday, Sept. 21 for the homecoming match at 4 p.m.
Women’s Soccer
The 2019 women’s soccer season remains unbeaten (4-0) after defeating Adirondack (7-0), Corning (7-1) and Jamestown (9-0). The Vikings have started the year outscoring their opponents 31-1 in four games.
Women’s Tennis
Hudson Valley Community College women’s tennis (0-1) matched up against Broome on Sunday, Sept. 15 for its 2019 season opener on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. The Vikings dropped the match 6-0 to a tough NJCAA Region 3 Broome program.
