Cross Country
The Hudson Valley men’s and women’s cross country programs competed in the NJCAA Region 3 Championship meet on Saturday morning in Canandaigua, NY. Both the men’s and women’s program claimed second place in their respective races.

The women’s team was led by the NJCAA Region 3 individual champion McKenzie Ryan. Ryan won the 5K race and posted a final time of 22:12.20 and was named to the All-Region team. Anna Clarke joined Ryan as an All-Region honoree as she finished ninth and crossed the finish line with a time of 24:35.15.

The men’s cross country team placed second in back-to-back weekends as they finished runner up in the NJCAA Region 3 championship meet. The men were led by Joseph Degiorgio, who finished in sixth place to earn All-Region honors with a time of 29:37.93. Evan Rogotzke followed Degiorgio with a ninth-place finish and earned All-Region team honors as well. Rogotzke finished the race with a time of 29:42.36.

Football
Hudson Valley Community College football (4-4) claimed the 2019 NJCAA Region 3 championship on Saturday as they defeated rival Erie, 28-13, on the road in Orchard Park. Kyle Daly had another big day as he finished the game with 117 receiving yards on seven catches and two touchdowns. Desi Floyd finished the day with his third 100-yard game after rushing for 110 yards on 22 carries.

Men’s Soccer
Hudson Valley Community College men’s soccer (6-8-2) were defeated in their regular season finale, 9-0, by No. 7 Genesee on Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Women’s Soccer
Hudson Valley Community College women’s soccer (11-3) earned a 1-0 win at home against a tough Genesee opponent and was awarded the No. 4 seed in the 2019 NJCAA Region 3 postseason tournament.

Coming out of the break, the Vikings put the pressure back on Genesee as Brooke Clough scored 15 seconds into the half and put the Vikings up 1-0. Clough entered the game tied for a program record of 20 assists in a single season. Clough is tied with Stacy Call, who accomplished her 20-assist season in 1990.

Men’s and Women’s Basketball
The 2019 men’s and women’s basketball seasons are set to begin this weekend as the Vikings start on the road at Cayuga on Nov. 2. The women’s program will play on Nov. 3 against Montgomery College at Sullivan’s Tip-Off Tournament.
