This Week in Athletics — Feb. 7

 

Men’s Basketball: The men’s basketball team finished the week with a 1-1 record as it defeated Adirondack on Tuesday, extending a win streak to six straight before falling on the road at North Country on Saturday, 95-94.

Women’s Basketball: The women’s basketball team dropped its only match last week, a road match at North Country on Saturday. They return to action on Tuesday hosting UConn-Avery Point at 6:30 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex.

Men’s and Women’s Bowling: Highlighting the Vikings program at Saturday’s Schenectady Invitational was Parker Brown. Brown had a great day on the lanes, shooting 1,110 for five games, averaging 222 per game. Brown’s score placed him fourth in the all-events standings. Willis Bickford also had a great day with an overall series score of 1,071 and placed seventh overall in the all-events standings. Erin McCart and Isabella Guyer struggled a little in the early frames, but recovered nicely to finish strong. McCart placed 29th overall with a 877 score and Guyer placed 48th overall with a 803 pin total. The team placed ninth with a score of 3,831.

Recapping Sunday’s Boulevard Invitational, also in Schenectady, the lane pattern was a little tougher than the previous day’s events. McCart bowled a 886 over the course of the five-game series. Brown finished with a 936 and Bickford bowled a 1,060 overall to place in ninth place. The team placed eighth overall with a score of 2,882.
