Advising ESL Students
One of the increasing populations occurring at Hudson Valley Community College is ESL students. As faculty and staff, we often have questions in guiding, advising, and supporting ESL students: What are some common characteristics of ESL students? What is the role of the ESL advisor? What academic support is available for ESL students?
All of these issues and more will be discussed during this session focusing on effectively advising students for whom English is not their native language.
