Thoughts from Campus Ministry

Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Matt 6:25-27
——————————–

The holiday season is truly one of the most enjoyable times of the year. It is a time when the goodness of the human heart is on full display.

However, the holidays can be a time of great stress, anxiety and worry. Students may worry about making the grade on their upcoming finals. Many of us worry too about our shopping budgets as we strive to get perfect gifts for our loved ones. Add to that end of year deadlines and reports and we can see how quickly stress can become a problem.

Though we can never avoid all stress in our lives, we can manage our stress by employing some tried and true methods:

  • Prayer, meditation, quiet reflection time.
  • Balance work activities with leisure.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Spend time with friends.
  • Practice deep, mindful breathing.
  • Laugh often.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Peace and Blessings,
