Microsoft 365 Applications Training Series — Microsoft Teams Chat and Meetings
Chat is at the center of what you do and includes individual chats, group chats, and meeting chats. Meetings can take collaboration to the next level with real-time audio, video and screen sharing. Objectives: learn when to use Chat and Meetings in Teams; participate in one-on-one, group and meeting chats; view and manage chats and meetings, and understand how to view meeting details.

Wednesday, March 24 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. via Zoom
Promoting Success of ESL Students in the College Classroom
This workshop presents basic concepts in second language learning and offers best practices for teaching and advising non-native English speakers. Participants will learn about the challenges that ESL college students face and how they can help students be more successful in class.
There will be a PPT presentation, discussing:

  • Concepts in Second Language Learning (acquiring vs learning a language; factors that affect language learning)Assessing ESL work (hierarchy of criteria for evaluation; commenting on work, avoiding plagiarism)
  • Tips for working with ESL students (personal connection, use of WAIT time, addressing learning styles, etc.)

There will be a discussion with Q & A after the presentation.

Microsoft 365 Applications Training Series – MS Planner
This course introduces how to use Planner to allow teams to work together effortlessly by organizing projects visually in an easy-to-use application that works seamlessly across all your devices. Objectives: uunderstand Planner navigation and Microsoft 365 integrations; see how to create and organize a plan; share a plan and assign tasks; learn to stay on top of tasks assigned to you; learn to stay on top of the project using charts, calendars, and specialized views, and work with Planner in Teams or SharePoint.
