Remembering the Victims at Umpqua Community College

Victims of last week’s shootings at Umpqua Community College will be remembered during a moment of silence and brief ceremony with students, faculty and staff. Campus Chaplain Cylon George will facilitate the remembrance.

National Moment of Silence

The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), as well as the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), called for a national moment of silence in the memory of victims of the tragedy at Umpqua Community College.

“We ask that you encourage those on and around your campuses to observe the moment of silence this Thursday, October 8 at 11 a.m. Pacific / 2 p.m. Eastern. Please share this message, and use the hashtag #IamUCC on Twitter and Facebook to show your support and let those at UCC know that they are on your minds and in your hearts.
