As we enter the first week of Fall 2022 classes, the Enrollment Services Unit would like to share some tips on how to assist students who are still completing steps in the enrollment process.
New Student Orientation (NSO):
Walk-in NSO is offered Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m. Students should be directed to FTZ 340. Photo ID is required to participate. Online NSO is also available. Students must email orientation@hvcc.edu with their full name and date of birth.
Placement Testing:
Placement testing is offered Monday through Thursday, 9 – 11 a.m. Students should be directed to FTZ 341. Photo ID is required. Online placement testing is also available. Students must email testing@hvcc.edu with their full name and date of birth.
Placement testing for 24 Credit Hour and Ability to Benefits students is offered Monday through Thursday strictly at 9 a.m. Photo ID is required and these students cannot test online.
SOAR Advisement:
Student Outreach, Advisement and Retention (SOAR), located in FTZ 319, can be reached at (518) 629-7219 or soaradvisement@hvcc.edu.
SOAR supports students registering for courses in Individual Studies (INS), 24 Credit Hour Program (INT), Health Sciences Certificate (HEC) and Continuing Education/Non-matriculated (ZZN) areas as well as those pursuing Microcredentials.
SOAR staff members will direct students to the Continuing Education/Non-matriculated advisors as appropriate but non-matriculated advisement services, located in FTZ 334, can also be reached directly at (518) 629-7338 or coned@hvcc.edu.
All students are currently being served on a walk-in basis through Friday, Sept. 2. Students may not always be served the same day, but will remain on a list of students to contact the following day.
