Did you know that we have approximately 300 veterans and families of active service members enrolled in classes this fall? We do, indeed, and those numbers may increase as enrollment and retention efforts aimed at this group are successful.
Please join John Ostwald for a 20-Minute-Mentor session on working with veterans and families of service members when they are your students. John will address best practices along with the pitfalls that we may encounter if we are not aware of some of the needs particular to this group.
John Ostwald, a psychology professor for more than 20 years, faculty advisor to the Armed Forces Club, and former student veteran at HVCC, is known for engaging and enlightening presentations and is often invited to speak at national conferences. We are lucky that he has agreed to spend this time with us!
