The historical novel, Where I’m Bound by Dr. Allen B. Ballard, will be the topic of discussion for the Wednesday, Feb. 20 HVCC Book Club meeting. Our book discussion will take place at noon in MRV014 in Marvin Library Learning Commons.
This novel is set at the end of the Civil War when former slave turned cavalry scout Joe Ducket must return to the plantation to try to find his wife and daughter. The HVCC Book Club welcomes students, staff, faculty and community members. Please join us and feel free to bring your lunch!
On Monday, Feb. 25, Dr. Allen Ballard will explore the role of African-American troops during the Civil War as part of the VOICES Library Lecture Series at 11 a.m. in the BTC Auditorium.
