It is normal for college students to occasionally feel sad, anxious or not like themselves, but if these feelings persist for more than two weeks, it could be a sign of a mood disorder like depression. Students who may be struggling with depression should be aware that help is available.
The Center for Counseling and Transfer offers free, anonymous online screenings to help students determine if they may be suffering from a mental health condition. The screenings are not intended to be diagnostic, but they are excellent indicators of whether further help should be sought.
Please encourage students to stay on top of their mental health by taking advantage of this resource. Let them know that the Center for Counseling and Transfer is staffed by Licensed Mental Health Counselors who have the professional training and expertise to address their needs. We are here to help!
