Today, March 24: Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys present noontime concert

Local bluegrass favorites Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys perform at noon on Thursday, March 24, in the BTC Auditorium.. The hour-long concert, presented by the Cultural Affairs Program, is open to free to all. The program also will be live streamed at www.hvcc.edu/culture.

Jim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys deliver a blend of bluegrass and rockabilly reminiscent of Hank Williams, Earl Scruggs and Bill Monroe. Add some storytelling and a dash of down-home humor, and it’s impossible not to have a good time. The band just released a new album, entitled “Hillbilly Rock n Roll.”

The lineup at HVCC will be Gaudet, guitar and vocals; Bobby Ristau, upright bass and backing vocals; Sten Isachsen, mandolin and backing vocals, with special guests Tucker Callander on fiddle and Richie Pagano on piano.

A concert by Double B & the New Orleans Drive-by Band, upcoming at noon on Thursday, April 21, also in the BTC Auditorium and via live stream, concludes a Spring 2022 series of music events.
