The Friends of Oakwood are hosting tours of the historic Gardner Earl Chapel in Oakwood Cemetery on Fridays, May 31, June 28 and July 26 from 2 to 3 p.m., preceding the “Troy Night Out” festivities held the last Friday of each month in downtown Troy. The cemetery is located on Oakwood Avenue (Route 40). The ornate Victorian chapel is a National Historic Landmark is a popular site for weddings and special events as well as funerals.
No registration is required; pay with cash upon arrival — $10 per person, children under 12 are free. Rain or shine. No dogs please! Groups of eight or more should call Heidi at (518) 221-7941.
The traditional chapel tours on Tuesdays in August will not be held this year. Please check Facebook (Oakwood Cemetery Troy NY) for any schedule changes.
