You can prepare for a career in pharmacy, beginning as a pharmacy technician! You can choose from two convenient formats – an online-only format or a blended classroom/online format.

Pharmacy Technician — Blended Classroom/Online Format

For those who prefer some in-person interaction as well as the opportunity to work online, this non-credit course includes 25 three-hour, in-person sessions, including an 18-hour internship in a pharmacy, and 11 three-hour online sessions, totaling 108 hours.

The classroom sessions are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the college’s Albany Extension Center, located on the 4th floor of 175 Central Avenue. The online sessions are scheduled for each Friday, with both the students and the instructor participating independently, but simultaneously.

The internship is comprised of six sessions at a pharmacy, and attendance is required for course completion. Please Note: Participation in the internship is contingent upon passing a background check. Students in this training program must not have any felonies or drug-related criminal offenses on their records.

To provide you with the flexibility to learn on your own schedule, this non-credit course option is held exclusively online. You will have e-mail access to the instructor, and you will participate in discussion boards with fellow students. Our online students also have the option of participating in an 18-hour internship, which is held in an Albany-area pharmacy.

Please Note: Participation in the optional internship is contingent upon passing a background check. Students in this training program must not have any felonies or drug-related criminal offenses on their records.
