Services for Students with Disabilities
The Center for Careers and Transfer offers its services to all students equally, but has developed additional services that are aimed at providing services that are of particular value to those students and alumni who have disabilities.

Our office is located in the Siek Campus Center, Room 201, and is accessible via an elevator at the north end of the building. Disabled parking is available in front and at the rear of the building. The main doors to the building are power assisted.

If any of this office’s materials or resources are found not to be accessible, please let us know and we will make every effort to accommodate.

Counseling is available on resume development, interviewing, disclosure, reasonable accommodations and many other issues relevant to disabilities.

International Students
Below are some basic guidelines for international students seeking employment. The International Students Office is the primary support office for international students and can be reached at (518) 629-7567.

On-campus Employment
An F-1 student is eligible to work on campus without immigration’s approval. Before seeking employment, see the International Student Advisor to get instructions on how to get the required Social Security card. The only positions that are available to international students on campus are designated as College Worker. College Worker positions are limited in number.

Off-campus Employment
An F-1 student may not accept off-campus employment at any time during the first year of study. After the first year, the Immigration and Naturalization Service may give permission to work under its severe economic hardship rule if the student can prove (document) that his/her financial circumstances have changed severely at the end of the first year.
