Gamification: Practical Strategies for Your Course
Friday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m.
From the Academic Impressions website: The focus on engaging students through creative course design is rapidly growing as today’s generation of students becomes more accustomed to constant interaction and entertainment. For instructors, this means rethinking content delivery and assignment design through new pedagogical developments such as gamification. Using game-based design principles does not have to be difficult, nor does it have to be comprehensive. Strategically implementing simple design techniques can help to better engage students through a more interactive approach to education. Join our experienced instructor for a tutorial on using gamification principles in your course to better connect with and engage students. We will discuss a range of different approaches to help make assignments more competitive, grading scales more interactive, and content more compelling.
