The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence acknowledges students for outstanding achievements that have demonstrated the integration of SUNY excellence within many aspects of their lives in areas such as academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, or the arts.
In his letters of support for the nominations of these two students, President Roger Ramsammy wrote:
Tatianna Moragne is an articulate and passionate student humanitarian who exemplifies the best of our students. She has distinguished herself as a leader and is an inspiration due to her full engagement with our community and her dedication to our mission. Tatianna is an exemplary student. She earns high grades in challenging courses and is progressing toward her degree in Environmental Science. Her disciplined approach to learning extends outside the classroom as she coordinated efforts to eradicate invasive species, managed community garden participants and volunteers, and found practical ways to implement sustainability to the local ecosystem. She also writes grants and manages projects. Tatianna is Secretary of the Student Senate, a member of the Faculty Student Association, and Secretary for the Black and Latino Student Union. She is recognized by her peers as dependable, efficient, and an outspoken advocate for their interests.
Logan Simms is a born leader and humanitarian, who epitomizes the best of our students and has set an example for everyone who desires to make the most of college through service to others. Since joining the HVCC Investment Club, he has contributed valuable insights from the perspective of an aspiring certified financial planner.
