This past year Hudson Valley Community College, led by Strata Information Group, completed a business process review of our practices relating to admitting and enrolling users. Strata has provided Senior Staff with a full report of its findings and recommendations. Senior Staff has reviewed this report and identified a few institutional priorities for which we have engaged Strata for implementation.
These priorities are:
- Implementation of TD Client/Automic (formerly UC4), which will automate financial aide processing.
- Implementation of Identity Management, which will cover user account provisioning and password management and self-service password reset.
- Implementation of Web Proxy in banner, which will cover the sharing of banner information, such as grades and billing, with persons or entities authorized by our students.
- Implementation of “low hanging fruit,” such as an online graduation application and automated “wait listing.”
Work on the identity management component already has begun with an on-site engagement to review our current account provisioning and password management. In addition, Strata will be on campus next week to begin the implementation of TD client.
In addition to the work to be completed by Strata, there are a number of other recommendations that can be completed without the assistance of Strata. To that end, President Matonak has convened a steering committee to work through these initiatives. The first meeting of this steering committee is coming up, and more information will be forthcoming in the following weeks.
