Getting Started with Blackboard: Web-Enhancing Your Course (WEC)
The WEC workshop series prepares faculty to use Blackboard in face-to-face (F2F) instruction through the College’s learning management system, Blackboard. Web-enhancing your course can range from providing students with easier access to course documents to using new approaches to teaching and learning. The Web-Enhanced Training series consists of six 1-hour class sessions. You will receive a mastery badge after completing the proficiency assessment and check-in with an instructional designer. After the completion of all six modules, you will earn a Web-Enhanced Training Completion Certificate from the Distance and Online Learning office and Center for Effective Teaching credit hours towards a CET certificate.

Meet ALLY – The Blackboard Accessibility Tool
Improve the accessibility of your Blackboard content through the new tool in Blackboard called ALLY. The “Meet ALLY” workshop will introduce faculty and staff to the tool and how it can help you make your content more accessible. Improving the accessibility of your course content will not only help ensure students with disabilities can access your materials. But it will also enhance the learning experience for students who use mobile devices as well as those who want to engage with the content differently. With the help of ALLY, we can work together to meet the standards of SUNY Accessibility Initiatives and HVCC Accessibility Protocols.
