Updates to College COVID-19 Travel and Events Protocols

Updated COVID-19 Travel and Events Protocols have been published on the college’s COVID-19 webpage. Key provisions of these protocols are summarized below.

Travel Protocols

New York State still requires all travelers to complete the Traveler Health Form unless the traveler left New York for less than 24 hours or is coming to New York from a contiguous state (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts or Vermont). However, the Traveler Health Form is no longer required to be submitted to College Health Services.

Asymptomatic travelers entering New York from another country, U.S. state, or territory are no longer required to test or quarantine as of April 10, 2021.

All unvaccinated travelers who have not recovered from COVID-19 in the past three months are recommended to get tested 3 to 5 days after arrival in New York, consider non-mandated self-quarantine (seven days if tested on day 3 to 5, otherwise 10 days), and avoid contact with people at higher risk for severe disease for 14 days, regardless of test result.

Symptomatic travelers must immediately self-isolate and contact the local health department or their healthcare providers to determine if they should seek COVID-19 testing.

International travelers must comply with CDC requirements, which currently include proof of negative test or recent COVID recovery in order to board airplanes headed to the United States.

Event Protocols

The college will be able to host a limited number of events this semester and during the summer. Request for space must be submitted at least three weeks in advance to the Institutional Services and Events Office, and must follow the college’s COVID-19 Event Protocols and all applicable New York State guidance.

The Event Protocols provide capacity limits, safety protocols applicable to all college-related events and links to applicable New York State Guidance containing additional requirements specific to type of event or venue.
