As we remain committed to delivering exceptional support to the military community at Hudson Valley Community College, we would like to share an update on how students can now indicate their intention to utilize VA Benefits with the college.
Previously, the college used a “paper” VA Tuition Deferral form, allowing students to indicate their intention to utilize VA benefits. This process deferred their tuition and fees, ensuring their course(s) would not be dropped while awaiting payment from the VA or a direct payment from the student based on the benefit they are using.
We have been developing an electronic alternative to the traditional “paper” VA Tuition Deferral. Moving forward, students will now be able to complete a “VA Tuition Deferral & Intake Form” online, which will be processed collaboratively by the Registrar’s Office and the Cashier’s Office. If students inquire about completing a VA Tuition Deferral, they should now be directed to the HVCC website to complete this electronic form at the link below.
An e-mail was sent to 264 students as part of a mass initial communication and will also be provided to future new students who indicate military affiliation and wish to utilize VA benefits. Students are already utilizing this resource faster than anticipated!
