Vanessa Carlton, best known for her 2001 release “A Thousand Miles,” will present her debut concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Thursday, Dec. 3 to benefit the Capital Region Coalition to End Homelessness.
The concert, part of a tour to support Carlton’s “Liberman,” an album released in October, begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 and $36.
The River 99.5 is a co-sponsor of the event.
President Drew Matonak is serving as honorary chairperson of the Capital Region Coalition to End Homelessness, which kicked off Homelessness Awareness Month on Nov. 6 with an event at the future site of Community Connections/Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless in Albany.
Homelessness continues to be a growing problem in many communities; there are 56,000 homeless college students throughout the country.
