In an effort to maintain up-to-date records, the Office of Human Services requests that any Hudson Valley Community College or Capital District Educational Opportunity Center employee, who served active duty in the U.S. Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force or the Coast Guard and was honorably discharged or separated from service under honorable conditions, submit a EEO-1 Self-Identification Form (attached below). Please also provide HR with a copy of your DD214 (military discharge record).

This will ensure our records are up to date and also provide the necessary documentation needed to observe future Veterans Day under Section 63 (see below).
All EEO-1 Self-Identification and DD214 forms may be submitted to HR@hvcc.edu or dropped off in person to the Office of Human Resources, room 140 in the Administration Building.
Please Note: Submission of the Self-Identification form is voluntary. In the future, if you wish to identify your veteran status, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (518) 629-4552.

The Veterans Resource and Outreach Center, located on the first floor of the the Siek Campus Center, is always looking to expand awareness of the center and invites all employees, especially veterans, to be involved in VETROC committees and events. Under Section 63 of the Public Officers Law, any college employee that served in active duty in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard of the United States has been honorably discharged or separated from service under honorable conditions, is entitled to a leave of absence with pay on Veterans Day. Other individuals who may not have served in that capacity may be entitled to such leave of absence if they otherwise satisfy the criteria set forth in Section 63.
