Viking Video Technologies Completes Busy Day Coordinating Four Separate Events

The crew at Viking Video Technologies, the college’s full-service video and communications production house, had a productive day on Tuesday, Jan. 15, seamlessly coordinating four separate events throughout the day.

VVT staff and a crew of freelancers covered the production and livestream transmission of Chancellor Zimpher’s State of the University presentation at the Swyer Theater at The Empire State Plaza. They were also responsible for making available high-resolution files of the event for state-wide media on the college’s FTP server later in the day.

A SUNY Board of Trustees meeting in the SUNY Central Administration building, which is located down the street from The Empire State Plaza, directly followed the Chancellor’s State of the University remarks. Viking Video was again on the scene providing a full production, livestream, and videoconference of the event. For the past few years, VVT has repeatedly been called upon to assist in the transmission of the SUNY board meetings, which are held around the state.

On that same day, other VVT crews were busy here on campus, coordinating the first in an ongoing series of webinars in Bulmer’s Studio A for the SUNY Research Foundation. They were also called upon to record sessions during the Northeast Advanced Technology Education Center (NEATEC) conference that was being held in the Bulmer building. That’s four separate events coordinated by VVT on one day, not to mention the fact that the next day brought another series of SUNY Board of Trustees meetings and more NEATEC conferences for the department to cover and transmit.

Viking Video Technologies’ professionalism and quality work with SUNY over the past four years has gained them a glowing reputation. They’ve received positive reviews from the Chancellor and her staff ever since they first were called to assist with the statewide “Conversations” she established back in 2009. The department hopes to build upon the relationship they’ve built with SUNY and continue to provide the same level of service to even more outside businesses and organizations.
